Not a Lava Lamp

Not a Lava Lamp takes the familiar silhouette of the classic lava lamp as a reference and reworks it through layers, colour and transparency. Its translucent outer shade softens the light and creates blurred distortions as you move around it, while the coloured inner shade changes the character of the glow from within.

The two shades work together to create a constantly changing visual effect, giving the lamp a futuristic feel while keeping a clear connection to its retro inspiration.

Not a Lava Lamp is 3D printed in small batches using plant-based PLA and assembled by us in our studio.

Light & heat

Use 3W LED bulbs only. The lamp should be kept away from excessive heat and prolonged direct sunlight.

Made in small batches

Not a Lava Lamp is designed, 3D printed, assembled and packed by us in small batches. We produce in small quantities to make thoughtful use of our materials and avoid unnecessary waste.

As with any 3D printed piece, very slight variations may occur between individual pieces.
